PISTACHIO

Improvement in soil structure.
  • The pistachio is grown in areas with high temperatures in summer and requires a certain amount of clay in the soil to retain enough water for the crop to be viable. This clay can have unwanted effects in autumn and winter as it can lead to waterlogging. Leofertilisers promote an increase of macropores in clay soils, preventing stagnation and promoting excess water drainage, which is vital as this crop cannot tolerate waterlogged soils.
  • Increased nutrient retention capacity in the soil which minimises leaching in a single application, which is frequent in this crop.

Improved production.
  • Improved assimilation of nutrients, promoting the setting and development of the fruit while obtaining higher yields.

Improved fruit quality.
  • Improved exploitation of nutrients and availability of water provide the crop with favourable conditions, positively influencing pistachio qualities, such as the percentage of fatty acid, hardness and flavour.
